Death toll rises to 46 after massive fire in Dhaka’s Bailey Road.

The death toll has risen to 46 in a fire that broke out in a multi-story building on Bailey Road in the capital. It is feared that the death toll may increase in this incident.

A fire broke out in the building around 10:15 last Thursday night. After extinguishing the fire, the injured were rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

The building that caught fire on Bailey Road last night is a seven-story building. On the second floor of the building, there is a food shop named ‘Kachchi Bhai’. Apart from a clothing store on the third floor, there are also eateries on the upper floors. Every day after evening the food stalls are crowded with customers. Many people go there to eat with their families.

This morning, Health Minister Samanta Lal Sen came to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and gave this information. In this incident, 10 people are admitted in Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and 2 people are admitted in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that after the fire broke out on the first and second floors of the building, it spread upwards. After a while, the fire service personnel came and tried to put out the fire. Along with this, with the help of cranes, they brought down the people who took shelter on the seventh floor and roof of the building. The fire was brought under control around 11:50 pm with the efforts of 13 units of the fire service.
